The mystery is solved October 30. 2007
Remember yesterday I told you about the hopping insect in my kitchen. Joann got home before Bill and I told her about how this creature was jumping all over the place until my size 10s stopped his fun. Well, Joann said it must have been a Cricket. I thought it was a Grass Hopper but Bill said it had to be a Cricket. So OK it was a Cricket.
Today according to the Weather people was supposed to be the coldest of the season. Well, when I opened the drape this morning it was 30 degrees and it did get up to 60 degrees by late in the afternoon. I opted to stay in today.
The Health Nurse comes tomorrow so it will be Thursday before I get out and walk. While I am out on Thursday I plan to do some Christmas Shopping. Our one Department Store in town is having a big sale and I must go see what they have that I cannot do without.
Till next time -

This and That but nothing special October 29. 2007
I watched the Series last night and the ninth inning of the game was the most exciting of the whole series. I was rooting for Boston because my Son-in-law John is from Boston. Bill had to be at work at 7:30 this morning so he went to bed early. Joann could not make it past the 7th so that meant I watched the best part of the whole series (in my opinion) all alone.
When I decided it was time for me to go to bed I was turning out lights when I noticed an object on the floor in the kitchen which I thought was a piece of a leaf. Every time the door opens here two or three leaves find their way into my apartment. Well, I got my picker upper and went to pick it up to put into the garbage when it jumped to another part of the kitchen - me chasing it. What could it be - do they have Grass Hoppers up here? Well, after chasing it around the Island in the kitchen all the while remembering a story I read in the St. Petersburg Times about a woman that chased a Palmetto bug all over her house and fell over the back of her sofa and ended up with scrapes and bruises.
This insect jumped once too often because I was waiting for him with my big foot and he is jumping no more.
Can't wait until Bill gets home and I show him the remains of this creature and hope he can tell me what it was. I will let you know.

Climbed another Mountain today October 26. 2007
Not literally but we did drive up another mountain that I had never been on before. Bill finds all these beautiful drives in his work. This particular area is called "The Reserve". The leaves got more colorful the farther up we went.
As we drove up and up and up I felt like I was in a plane because my ears were crackling and closing down even though I was chewing gum.
Before turning around to head down the mountain a flock of Wild Turkeys crossed the road in front of us. Even though they did not tarry we were able to count 7, 3 of which were Gobblers.
Joann had taken several pictures of the leaves and wanted to get a picture of the Turkeys but her battery had quit on her. So sorry because on the next turn we saw several Guinea Hens. Such beautiful markings you have never seen. Oh well, maybe we can go back another day.
Back on the surface of the earth I walked the aisles while Joann and Bill shopped. Do you believe they are starting to get in the staples for Thanksgiving dinner. They also picked up a few snacks for the friends that are coming to watch the game with us.
