I had a 3:30 appointment with my Doctor yesterday afternoon. We arrived at his office about 3:15. It was a beautiful sun shiny day. Went in signed in and waited, and waited, and waited some more. The one good thing about waiting for your turn in the Doctor's office up here everyone talks to you. I know where each one of the 3 other people waiting is going to have Thanksgiving dinner and what they are going to have. Oh yes, and who is going to cook it. The three others are going to have Cornbread dressing and when Joann told them about our family recipe for Bread dressing they looked at her like she was from another Planet.
It was 4:45 when the Nurse called me in. I was maybe with the Doctor half an hour. So when we went to leave the office to go home it was not surprising to find it was pitch black out. As we are walking to the car the Doctor comes running out to make sure we get out safely in the dark and to talk with Joann about my prescriptions which all need refills. He is one of a kind. I know I have said that before but he really is.
I had never been in that part of the area after dark before and I was amazed at the beauty even in the dark. There is a scattering of homes up in the mountains and they were all lit up so instead of beautiful colored leaves I was seeing white lights, some flashing. It was truly an amazing sight. And, of course, the moon was shining in all it's glory.
Tomorrow when asked what I am thankful for my answer will be - I am thankful to God for all His blessings.
Love and prayers from here to there
